A free, one-week filmmaking intensive for teens impacted by the January 2025 LA wildfires.
Filmmaking on a working studio lot.
Selected Young Filmmakers spend a full week at the New York Film Academy LA campus in Burbank, working alongside professional instructors, developing their story, building their crew, and shooting on the Universal Studios Backlot.
Tell your story.
Every filmmaker writes, directs, and edits their own short film. Each student will work as a crew with other young filmmakers, supporting each other through every stage of the process.
Your film can be about anything. It does not need to be about the fires.
Premiere your film at a real festival.
Each filmmaker gets to screen their film at the Ashes To Films Festival in January 2027 in front of a live audience in Los Angeles.
